The door chime on a 2000 Ford F250 can be disabled by removing the fuse or pulling the wiring harness. The chime is automatically trigger each time the door is opened or is left open

Door chime is in the Computer module on the driver side by the gas pedal in th e center console. Cut the black wire with the yellow stripe and the chime is gone. forget the crap about spraying door switches with wd40.
The chime module is located underneath the left side of the dash right abve the fuse box.
The door chime switch on a 96 ranger is part of the door latch mechanism. If your door chimes all the time when your driving try spray lube on the latch that should free it up.
