If I understand correctly, the Ignition Control Module is located inside of the distributor. To replace it remove the distributor cap, which is locted in the center rear of the engine compartment. If there is adequate room, leave the spark plug and coil wires attached. Set the cap aside and look for a wiring harnes on the bottom of the distributor. I should be attached to a small flat black module that has two small bolts holding it in place. Carefully remove the small bolts, and unplug the harness and remove the Ignition Control Module. Replace and assemble in reverse order. Make sure to get the distributor cap on the same way and do not rotate the distributor during the process.
Where is the electronic spark control located a 1995 Chevy Tahoe
its inside the distributor.
Electronic Spark Control located near the brake booster.
how much does an electronic spark control cost on a 1989 Buick? I just want a price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd replace the ECM (electronic Control Module). These are often the problem on older GM vehicles. It's fairly simple to replace. It's located directly under the distributor cap and rotor. Costs about $60 for the part.
I believe in 93 they had the newer style computer, this eliminated the electronic spark control module.
ESC stands for Electronic Spark Control it may also stand for Electronic Stability Control. The Electronic Spark Control module will retard the timing if it detects any spark knock or pinging or even other similar sounds made by the engine such as lifter knock.
test ignition coil,ignition module,pick-up coil,electronic spark control,and knock sensor
I have a 1991 Sierra and my ESC is located right on top of the motor directly to the left of the carburetor.
Right next to the gas moduale
in the distributor cap
Looking from front of truck, it is mounted on top of the engine, left of the throttle body.
passenger side third spark plug back Driver side ?
It advances and retards the engine timing as needed.
It located as you are looking at the engine to the left of the tbi on a mounting bracket on top of the bracket it has a four wire connector connecting to the module
Electronic Spark Timing (EST) circuit is shorted to ground.
The ESC module is in the distributor
I have a 1994 C1500. The spark control module is located in the cab, on the passenger side, above the heater blower. You can access it through the glove box by removing the inner liner. JFK
The ESC, Electronic Spark Control, Module is located on the radiator side of the engine block, directly beneath and screwed to the coil pack assembly.
Could be the ESC (Electronic Spark Control) mounted to the center of the firewall under the hood.
Inside the distributor, under the rotor.
Generally if the spark control module on an engine is bad, the car will run roughly. It will likely miss and die at low idle speeds.
It is in the driverside head between the front 2 spark plugs.
