Where is the evil spirits legion today?

Most people give little or no thought to the "matter-of-fact" references in The Bible to appearances of angels... and the everyday maladies men suffer at the hands of "unclean spirits" [demons; or devils] that Jesus commanded almost as ordinarily as breathing.

Mankind remains to this day in ignorance of the "spirit world," that his limited vision can't see... and that his closed, selfish, physically-oriented carnal mind can't perceive unless God opens it to it. Many of man's woes are the result of the influences of unclean spirits fanning the flames of heightened human emotions... and most of the world, clueless about this invisible enemy, exists in a constant state of war with other men.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Eph.6:12)

Demon possession is essentially relegated to the movies as "entertainment" in these last high-tech days of biblical skepticism. Today, modern science prefers to label many of the "mental" problems, whereby Jesus merely cast out "unclean spirits" from the minds and bodies of men to heal them, as "diseases"... or "mental illness... or the result of "undue stress placed on someone by society."

The biblical Truth, however, is that angels [created spirit beings, be they the obedient or disobedient kind] do not die. And the very ones that Jesus cast out of people a couple thousand years ago are STILL AROUND possessing people today. That includes "Legion"... which was a large number of unclean spirits who happened to possess that one man whom Jesus confronted.

It's unknown whether they hung together all this time, or went their separate ways. All the Bible says about them is that they were dispersed into about two thousand swine.

"...the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea." (Mark 5:13)

According to Jesus... "When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation." (Matt.12:43-45)

That generation passed. And others have come and gone... each one with people suffering the influences and possession of the same unclean spirits, with each generation departing further and further from the Truth of God... with evil and wickedness gaining ground toward the prophesied confrontation in these last days at a place called: "...in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon." (Rev.16:16)

Satan the Devil and his demons [among whom Legion is numbered] have a final call to make to the leaders of man's governments in the time just ahead of us, to gather the war-making capabilities of men to battle against Jesus' return to the earth with His Kingdom.

"...I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the Dragon [Satan], and out of the mouth of the Beast [men call him Antichrist], and out of the mouth of the False Prophet [most men don't know about him]. For they are the spirits of devils [demons; unclean spirits], working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of the Great Day of God Almighty." (Rev.16:13-14)

Legion was a powerful concentrated amalgam of devils in one man that Jesus cast out and dispersed for awhile. And when the swine in which He sent them drowned after mere minutes of taking up residence in their "new homes"... they immediately went about their tormented, restless existence of finding new hosts somewhere in people or things of that generation... of that age.

And they have been doing the same thing with each succeeding generation since. Legion is alive... in torment... and if they aren't possessing someone or some thing... are seeking a home now.
