each door speaker has a built in amp mounted to the back of the speaker. it also acts as a crossover network for the tweeter which is also mounted in the door. if you are having a problem with it squealing or making wierd noises then your problem can be solved by resoldering the output chip in the amp.. just normal closing of the doors over time will loosen the solder joints
There are two Infinity wiring systems available for 1998 Dodge Intrepids. For the Infinity 1 system, the factory amplifier is located behind the glove box and to the right. For the Infinity 2 system, the amp is situated behind the trunk trim panel.
A 2007 Chevy Avalanche will only have an external factory amplifier if it is equipped with a Bose stereo system. If there is a factory amp included, it will be underneath the center console.
This does come with a factory amplifier for the sound system. Sometimes it comes disconnected and needs to be reattached.
Amps for the factory Bose system of a 97 nissan maxima are located in passenger door panel for the front and in the speaker casing in the trunk for the rear.
Amplifier or blown fuse.
Both the standard audio system and the Infinity Gold premium audio system have the same size speakers:Front Doors: 6X 3/4"Rear Doors: 6X 3/4"If you have speakers in the dashboard of your Jeep, they are 2X 1/2".You can tell if you have the Infinity Gold system or not because if you have the system, Infinity Gold will be printed on both front door speaker grilles. If Infinity Gold is not printed on both front door speaker grilles, you do not have the Infinity Gold system. Also, if you have the system, an amplifier is placed under the rear bench seat on the driver's side. If the factory head unit has a joystick-like fader control, you have the Infinity Gold system. Thanks!
if you have an factory infinity system they usually have a small inline amp at each speaker. not built into the factory deck. you have to remove or wire arround each amp before you install an aftermarket deck. or you'll just get humming and static. In the trunk on the driver side wall, under the carpet.
most likely no, unless it was a premium sound system or somthing.
If you are trying to put in a new stereo I have your answer. The 96 continental that i have ( i am assuming that yours being a year older is the same) came with a factory amplifier. Thus, the stereo head unit is wired directly this amplifier ( unlike standard stereos which have speakers directly wired to the head unit. This amplifier is located in the trunk, you must remove the top panel in the trunk closest to the back seats to acess it. From the amplifier the wires run to the four door panel speakers. Once you acess this amplifier you can proceed with any modifications that you wish to make. mkelly12@ramapo.edu
There are 2 types of speaker systems in the 2000 Dodge Dakota, however, they are the same sizes. You could either get the standard speaker system or the Infinity Gold premium speaker system. Here are the speaker sizes: Standard Audio System: -Front Doors: 6X 3/4" -Rear Panel/Rear Quad Cab Doors (Only on Club/Quad Cab Models): 6X 3/4" Infinity Gold Premium Audio System: -Front Doors: 6X 3/4" -Front Door Tweeters: Tweeter -Rear Panel/Rear Quad Cab Doors (Only on Club/Quad Cab Models): 6X 3/4" -Amplifier: Mounted Behind Front Seats or Under Rear Bench Seat If you have an amplifier either behind the front seats or under the rear bench seat, and you have a joystick-type fader on your factory head unit, you have the Infinity Gold premium speaker system. If you have 4 speakers, no amplifier, and a standard fader on your factory head unit, or if you have the A/M-F/M only (no cassette, no CD) or A/M-F/M-Cassette head unit, you do not have the Infinity Gold premium speaker system. However, you can have the A/M-F/M-Cassette head unit with a joystick-type fader and still have the Infinity Gold premium speaker system. Hope this helps! Thanks!
AnswerThe amplifier on Infinity Speakers were integril to each speaker. Relpace the speaker with OEM (new or used) and enjoy the best factory sound around. There is the possibility that the sound processor is failing. It is located under the dash on the drivers side on my '93 T&C. May be different on a '92 but should be the same. I have the same problem with the front door speakers on mine. I have replaced both door speakers and still have the same problem. I can only believe it is the sound processor. Hope this helps.
Yes. There's a factory amp under the driver's seat (bucket seats option).
