Northstar engines have freeze plugs in the heads!
Two are in the right head and one in the left. They can be found on the exhaust side of the head and therefore difficult to see.
They are located on the lower part of the motor

A freeze plug is located in the side of an engine block that is supposed to protect the block against freeze damage.
There are actually no freeze plugs located in the block. The only freeze plugs are located in the cyl. heads front and rear.
There isn't just ONE freeze plug; there are many, and they're all in the "water jacket" surrounding the cylinders.

Is this a Northstar 4.6? if so.....I have never found a petcock on one. There is a threaded plug on drivers side at bottom.....good luck getting to it while in car.
