SHOULD BE LOCATED ON THE LEFT SUBFRAME RAIL UNDER THE BRAKE BOOSTER.
AnswerThe filter is definitely on the inside of the left frame rail, however unless you have access to a lift it is not an easy task. Lots of fuel will be released and most of it ends up in your armpit. There are special clips that need to be removed to disconnect the filter from the lines. If you bend the plastic lines you will need to replace them also. This is not a backyard job,and I would recommend having it done by someone with proper knowledge of the job. The line is pressurized and will spout a good amount of fuel back at you when you pull the hard formed plastic lines. Be ready with something to plug or clamp the line closed. A second pair of hands really helps this. Its also tough to see without a trouble light that far down in the engine area. Be careful not to pinch the lines closed with the clips, this caused me some grief. This repair took me about 2 hours with an extra pair of hands.Wiki User
