if it's fuel injected, the filter is located on left (driver side) frame rail just behind the engine. On a carb model, it's located on the rear of the carb where the fuel line attaches.
Disconnect the fuel line from the carb with a 5/8" line wrench then unthread the fitting in the carb with a 1" wrench. The fuel filter is inside that fitting. Take note how the filter and spring are assembled into the carb for reassembly.

From the factory, the fuel filter would be in the Q-jet carb. You have to disconnect the fuel line at the carb and remove that housing on the carb. Filter is inside.

In some cases you might find and inline fuel filter located between the engine mounted fuel pump and the carb. On most newer models that are either TBI fuel injection and or cars with fuel injectors the filter is found on the firewall or underneath mounted on the frame or near the tank. The fuel filter is located at the front of the carb. The fuel line runs to a case about as big as your thumb to the front of your carb.
