A 2001 Nissan Sentra (1.8 L engine) has only one fuel filter on the vehicle, which is located inside the gas tank. It is more technically called a "fuel screen". The car does not have an inline fuel filter between the tank and engine like most other cars. Usually, this type of fuel screen does not require periodic replacement. However, if you are replacing the fuel pump, then it is recommended that the fuel filter/screen be changed at the same time.

The fuel filter is located against the firewall in a metal bracket. It is on the drivers side of the car below the brak fluid reservoir. There are two clamps and hoses on each end of the filter.
The bad news: the fuel filter is a "non-serviceable" part located within the fuel pump. The good news: you get a new fuel filter for free when your fuel pump is replaced.
Its on the passenger side behind the engine you have to reach up to get it. Its a bigger filter than you would expect for a nissan.
The fuel filter is located on the firewall, drivers side around the brake resevoir
On a Nissan Sentra GXE 1.6, the internal air temperature sensor is located in the air duct. It is the duct that leads from the air filter box to the throttle body.Ê
Somewhere most likely between the engine and the firewall.
