Believe it or not, for some reason reason GM decided it should be a non serviceable unit in the fuel tank. I've got a 2006 GMC Sierra and was amazed to learn of this.
It is inside of the fuel tank.
there isn't one, they did away with filters in 2003
GM. relocated the fuel filter in 2004, and put it inside of the gas tank.
You have to remove the gas tank, Then remove the sending unit in the top of the tank. That will be were the fuel filter is located.
In 2004 Chevy moved the fuel filter from the frame rail and put it inside of the fuel tank.
In 2004 Chevy started putting the fuel filter inside of the FUEL TANK.

A 2006 Chevy Silverado came with either a 4.8, 5.3 or the 6.0 and the oil pump on these engines are located at the bottom of the engine inside the oil pan.
GM decided to remove the cabin air filter option starting in all 2005 trucks. You do not have a cabin air filter in your '06 silverado.
