The Fuel Filter on a 95 VS Holden Commodore.
The Fuel filter is located right near the rear Diff, If you slide under the rear of the commodore to the right of the Diff you will see the fuel filter just above the diff, usually on the fuel line going into the Gas/Petrol tank, to change the fuel filter you need to start by depressuring the fuel line, there is a neat little trick to do this, It requires finding the FUEL PUMP FUSE, usually under the hood in the black fuse box next to the RIGHT FRONT wheel arch, it will be marked F/Pump, just take that out and turn the motor over, it may run for a second or it may just turn over, do this about 3 times. then put the fuse back in, DONT START THE MOTOR. Find the Fuel Filter again and using a screw drive loosen the Clamps on the Fuel line and pull the filter off. replace the old one with the new one, tighten the clamps up and your set.
Notice that if you do not depressurise the fuel line you will be squirted with petrol, its not fun when you cop a face full of petrol.
Thats about all.
Starting from about AUD$130 refurbished or new on eBay, or more from a dealer.
The Commodore requires a gycol based coolant, its uses a50% coolant, 50% water mix. Ensure the coolant you choose is a high quality and suitable for V6 motor
Don't know about the Holden specifically, but in general, the starter will be held in place with two bolts. First, you'll want to disconnect the negative battery cable, then look at how the wiring is attached to the starter (which wire goes to which terminal). Then disconnect the wiring (should only be 2-3 wires). Then locate and remove the two bolts holding the starter in place. Installation is the reverse of removal.
The oil filter is located on the front of the motor under the exhaust manifold
Holden is more popular, followed by Ford. There was a brief period in the 1980's when the Commodore slowed Holden's dominance and the Ford Falcon was the preferred vehicle. This was the time of the Peter Brock - Commodore vs Dick Johnson - Falcon rivalry in Australian motor racing, reflected in the population as well! The best selling car EVER in any country across the world is a ford so obviously ford is the most popular
it is located on the motor in the front
bloody good question! I have my replacement filter waiting to be put on, but its not like my old VH, seems to be hidden somewhere. sorry i cant help, but im looking for it also. At the rear of car about the diff on right side, but before you remove it you need to de-pressurise the fuel system. Start motor Remove fuel pump relay (under hood near battery in fuse box) Run motor til it stops After motor stops, crank for about 10 seconds
