This is a good guess I have nevr work on that size motor ,But I thank you will find it about half way back to the tank and I thank it will be on the Driver side but check borth it will be behind the frame ,Now if your pump is working the gas will be under pression even with the motor shut off so watch your eyes. I don't knoe what typ of troble you are having But I bet you will fine out it's the pump not the Filter and realy the pump is not as hard to replace as it sound even tho it is in the gas tank I hope I was of some help
