The fuel filter sits on the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit/module located at the top of the gas tank. Unless you suspect you have a fuel contamination problem, changing the filter is not necessary. If you think it is necessary, you have to drop the fuel tank in order to gain access to the unit/module. There should also be a screen type filter at the bottom of the unit/module as well.
