Under the driver's side cabin door. Save yourself a TON of time and effort by purchasing something called a "line wrench"! Spray both ends of the filter with BREAK FREE, or similar product. Let the stuff soak in and work. That location of the filter is prone to catch road mud/etc and the bolts may be frozen. Careful not to torque the line! "GOOD LUCK"!!!
I pulled this off the net but it does sound right.
IF it is a 2004 2500 hd with the 6.0 in it.It does not have a in line fuel filter. It is built into the fuel pump. I was told that it does not need changing. Unless you want to bye a new pump and it is not cheap. I tryed to bye one for my truck from all the parts stores because i thought auto zone did not know what they was talking about.
2003 was the last year with an inline fuel filter. subsequent to that model year they were all placed in the fuel tank as part of the pump assembly.
