The fuel filter is located in the rear of the car. It will be between 2 hoses which are the fuel lines. Now the lines on my 91' Cavalier were all rusted, so I took a hack saw and cut on both sides of the filter. Then, I unscrewed the lines from the filter and placed them on the new one. Then went and bought some rubber hoses and some clamps and just clamped them together.

Start by changing the fuel filter as this may just be coincidence. Normally a fuel pump that does not work during warmer temperatures is defective and must be replaced.
