In front of the back shocks are two levers (one on each side) that spring the band between the seats up and your gas tank will be in view. Be sure when you put the cap back on that the arrow on it is facing the front. Mine is stuck on facing the back and I don't know what to do to get it off. Talk about poor engineering! You expect more from the Japanese.
