Ain't got one if it's a 2.4L. Go to the salvage yard and cut one from an old car. (a couple inches on each side of the "schrader" valve that your talking about. And find one that has a cap on it. Then break out the tubing cutter again and cut that same lenght out of the larger metal fuel line that runs across the top of your engine and insert the Schrader , connected with 2 rubber tubes and 4 small hose clamps. So... in short, you must build it yourself and then install it yourself. But the good thing is ,Now, you can check the pressure anytime you want to in the future. There are 5 of these Z cars in this family. I done 2 out of 5 with this set-up (with one of those now has interior fuel pressure gauge and I can check it at the blink of an eye.
Low fuel pressure
It COULD be the fuel pressure or if the theft system light on dash is blinking,it is that.
Drop the fuel tank. It is in there.
7.5 psi
It doesn't have one. To test the fuel pressure an adapter has to be installed between a fitting at the fuel filter and the fuel filter, preferably the fitting feeding into the filter from the pump.
Remove the fuel rail
the "valve" stem fitting you're referring to is called a schraeder valve , and is for connecting a fuel pressure gauge to, as a means of checking your fuel pressure-typical fuel pressure should be about 35 psi.
screwdriver
Fuel Pressure Regulator is located on the fuel rail.
The fuel pressure gauge will help you check the fuel pressure in a 1997 Sunfire. When the pressure is low their is a repair manual which advises on what steps to take.
Follow the fuel line from the engine toward the rear of the car and you will find it. the fuel filter is located under the vehicle between the fuel tank and the EVAP canister. the inlet fitting is a conventional tube nut on the end of the inlet line the outlet fitting is a quick connect type fitting.
The 1997 Cadillac Deville fuel pressure regulator can be found on top of the engine. The fuel pressure regulator will be near the fuel injector pump.
