To clean fuel injectors on a 1997 S10, first disconnect fuel pump from fuel injectors. Disconnect pressure regulator and connect the cleaning kit to the fuel port.
connect a fuel pressure gauge to the port at the back. turn key on and check for pressure, watch for pressure drop if it drops immediately regulator is leaking.on4.3 reulator is under upper intake plenum
The 1994 S10 has a fuel pressure regulator located in the throttle body.
A 1995 S10 with the 4.3 L TBI requires 41 to 47 psi fuel pressure.
To relieve the fuel pressure on a Chevrolet S10, the fuel pump relay should first be removed. Then, the engine should be startedand run until it stalls.
The fuel pressure regulator is located under the upper intake manifold. It is connected the the bank of injector poppets. With a fuel pressure gauge installed to the test port, you cycle the ignition key on and off several times until the pressure peaks. It should peak at 60 to 66 psi.
The fuel pump is kaput.
It is not port injection.I believe the fuel is injected into a throttle bottle.
There is no 2001 S10 with a V4 engine.
There is a test port on the fuel line in back of the engine. You will need the proper adapter and gauge to connect to it. When you do connect to it, you will cycle the ignition on and off until the fuel pressure peaks. If the system is healthy you should have a reading of 60 to 66 psi and hold it.
On the engine there is a test port located on the fuel rail. A fuel pressure gauge can be attached to it. A test gauge can be purchsed from your local auto parts store. With gauge attached, cycle ignition key on and off several times. Fuel pressure should peak between 41 and 47 psi.
The fuel pressure regulator is located in the throttle body.
