The fuel pump on that vehicle is inside the fuel cell (gas tank). If you drop the fuel cell you will see the ring. It will be a circle that looks different than the rest of the tank. You must remove the lock ring by tapping lightly with a screwdriver and light hammer. Once the ring is removed you will be able to pull the cage that houses the float and the fuel pump. While going through the process of taking down the fuel cell you must unhook fuel lines and electrical wires that you must remember where they go. If you hook the fuel lines into the wrong ports upon reassembly you will have to remove the tank again to switch them. I always tell people to start the vehicle after the lines are hooked in and before you lift the tank and bolt it in to save yourself this problem, but i am not recommending it because it may not be safe and i cannot accept responsibility if you injure yourself.
