the fuel pump is on the top of engine at rear of engine in front of turbo the pump is listed as a 12 hour job in a shop there are shortcuts if you know what ur doing book says remove turbo and exhaust. this is not nesacerry if you buy new pump, there are 2" O" rings needed for fuel lines where they attach at rear of heads these are special orings that do not come with pump you need to make sure you have them as they are the first thing to be reinstalled if you dont reinstall first you will not get them back on and the connections will leak to change pump with out removing exhaust and turbo is a finicky job but it can be done and is a lot easier than removing half the engine i have done several the first is always the worst
