I have a 1979 280zx also and just changed it it is located near the gas tank under the car in the passenger side
If your talking about the 280ZX it's 135 hp.
According to the Datsun 280ZX Service Manual for 1979, the plug gap is: 1.0 to 1.1 mm (0.039 to 0.043)
on a Nissan 280zx from 1979 to 1981 everything on the entire car is the same even down to the body doors and hatch
Probably, even though it's before 1990, located in the Fuse/ Relay distribution box under hood near passenger side. Or fuse/relay box under dash left side of steering column. Looks like an ordinary 1"x1" black box plug in relay.
It is outside of the fuel tank close to the rear passenger wheel. Can't miss the big silver/chrome tubular device sticking out with lines and wires coming off it.
burnt valve. do a compression test.
possibly your MAF sensor, fuel pump, ignition control module, so many more, I own one and these cars are very tempermental
Yes. For the most part all 1979-1983 280zx transmissions are pretty much the same, manual to manual and auto to auto. The turbo transmission from 81-83 however is a Borg Warner T-5 style toploader. Something tells me through experience is that they will bolt up to a non turbo motor, but the driveshafts and rear end will need to be changed. Also, be aware that the older Z's from 70-78 will bolt up, but the driveshafts would definitely need to be swapped, especially if you are putting a 4 speed into it for whatever reason.
