You can find a diagram of the 1988 Mazda MX-6 fuel pump relay in the vehicle's service manual or repair guide, which often contains detailed electrical schematics and component locations. Additionally, online automotive forums, websites like Mazda enthusiast pages, or platforms like Haynes and Chilton may offer downloadable diagrams. Searching for "1988 Mazda MX-6 fuel pump relay diagram" on Google Images can also yield useful results.
Either the fuel pump isn't working properly or the fuel filter is plugged.
So why is the system not turning on the relay? I don't have a wiring diagram in front of me, but you may have a tripped crash or g force interupt on the system. Mazda loves these dang thins. Get a service manual and find out where it is. If you drop a screwdriver on it that will shut off the fuel pump.
In a 1993 Mazda MX-6 with a 6-cylinder engine, the fuel pump relay is typically located in the engine compartment's relay box. This box is usually found near the battery, on the driver’s side. Consult the owner's manual for a diagram to identify the specific relay and its position within the box. If you're having trouble, you may also find it helpful to refer to a repair manual for additional details.
listen....all voltage at the fuel pump needs to be 12 volts. period. u may have 7.25 to 7.5 volts reading at the fuel level gauge sending unit. all pumps require 12 volts to operate
Follow fuel line from tank
think its in the gas tank but doing that repair calls for a chilton manual buy the chilton no haynes they suck....
The safety fuel shut off location on a 1991 Mazda MX6 is under the dash. It is on the far right side in front of the passenger seat.
Its gas, old gas can be used. It's a pain to drop the tank to remove gas and I wouldn't recommend draining it via running the fuel pump and flowing it into a can either, too dangerous. If you absolutely must pump out the gas, get a siphon pump and pump it out the fuel neck.
Sputtering and hesitation in a Mazda MX6 could be caused by several issues, such as dirty fuel injectors, a clogged air filter, a faulty spark plug or ignition coil, or a problem with the fuel pump or fuel filter. It is best to have a mechanic diagnose the specific cause by performing a thorough inspection and running diagnostic tests.
