the fuel temp. sensor is located under the seat behind the driver it has a cut out under seat remove plastic cover with phillips head screwdriver take out 4 bolts that has seat bolted down use 3/8 ratchet and 9/19 socket it is metric but this will work fine slid seat back about a foot cut out carpet and raise up ypu will see a plate with 4 screws remove undo rubber gossett so plate will move back you will see 3 gas lines undo gas lines they have quick disconnects you will have a plate that has 8 screws in it remove plate aND raise up plate you will be able to remove sensor and install new one reverse it to reistall parts.done this yesterday on 2005 sante fe 6cyl. 3.5 engine.took app. 11/2 hours works fine hopes this cure your problem.
