The boot release on my 97 fiesta ghia dont work and i was told the fuse is in the relay box behind the central fuse box how do i get to it?
Just done my mums this morning. Pull of the fuse box cover from the bottom and put it aside, look under the steering wheel at the part where you just took the cover off (It looks like black metal with holes in it) Look up in the left hand side of this (right up, a torch is needed) and you should see a top of a blue fuse (15amp) in a black casing (It may have another fuse next to it but you want the blue fuse at the front) pull this up and replace even if it dodn't look blown as mine looked fine but on replacing it my boot release works fine! Hope that make sense. Reading it now, it proberly doesn't make sense but print it out and bring it with you to the car. Good luck!

It doesn't use a fuse but instead uses a relay which is located in the main fuse block. Problem is, you can't buy just the relay as it's soldered into the fuse block. You need to replace the whole fuse box. This happened to me when my fan would not shut off. The relay gets stuck in the on position. Temp fix is to open the fuse box cover and tap the relay to release the contacts. Or spend $300 on a fuse box for a $4 relay.

If you problem is with a Mk3 fiesta you will probably find its the controlling relay for heated window as over time this gets hot and melts? it just a case of renewing it. It is located behind fuse box inside car.
