The junkyard is to the far right on the island, and the crane is at the left side, holding the giant magnet. You have to come up from the right side and get past Crusher, who is (first) stomping and (then) throwing barrels at you.

Then repeat the procedure, and get back to the crane, and turn the magnet back on, knocking him out between the magnet and the crushed car. (see the related question)
