remove the right front tire should be directly behind to yhe left of the airconditioning commpresser this is a Pontiac 3800.
i have a 92 bonn. and my car wasnt starting and it turns out it WAS the crankshaft sensor and the harmonic balancer
It's just behind the harmonic balancer.
Behind the harmonic balancer (dampner) that is located behind the crankshaft pulley.
The flywheel has to be held in place by a holding tool, Remove the mounting bolt, then use a balancer remover to pull the harmonic balancer.
more than likely it is leaking out of the weep hole located at the bottom of the water pump and is running down to the harmonic balancer,if so your water pump is on its way out
to my knowledge it is located behind the harmonic balancer. You should be able to c the wires runing to it just to the right of the harmonic balancer. Now if you could help me with information on how to uninstall the harmonic balancer i would greatly appreciate it Thanks. To remove the harmonic balancer you have to buy or rent a harmonic bancer puller. The bolts required for yours may not be included. If not you will have to go to the hardware store and purchace them. You should use the 3 1/2 inch #8 1/4 inch bolt 3 required also buy 3 washers cost under 4 dollars.
the crank sensor is behind the harmonic balancer
Timimg marks are on the harmonic balancer and pointer is on the lower timing cover
the harmonic balancer, is the pulley on the front of the crankshaft. this is used to balance a crankshaft.
Remove the serpentine belt. Remove the harmonic balancer. Pry it off the crankshaft. Install new seal, replace balancer and belt.
Inside the gas tank.
there is only one mark and one pointer
