You will notice a plate on top of the entire housing with wires running to it . It's located below the pullout ashtray and to the right. It has a grey sensor just to the right of it. There is a screw to remove the plate first and then two screws to remove the resistor.Trust me it's there I just changed mine.
under right side of dash near blower motor
where is blower motor resister located on 2001 GMC Yukon
The '97 GMC Yukon heater/A.C. blower motor is found under the glove box inside the truck. You can see it just by looking. No need to remove any panels etc! (A good "tap" will get it to work if it is just a loose connection) Kenny S.
If you are referring to the blower motor only working on the high speed setting, then the problem is the blower motor Resistor Pack is defective. Replace it. It can be the blower motor speed control switch but not likely.
In past models on the passenger side of the firewall there has been 2 hex headed screws about 1" apart with a plug carrying 2 or 3 wires in it, pull the plug. remove the screws, it there is what looks like a spring or 2 in there you found the heater resistor. Go buy a Haynes Auto Repair manual for your car.
I am assuming you are referring to the air conditioner blower motor. If so, check the fuses first. The resistor could be defective as well as the relay and fan motor.
under right side of dash
On the rider side firewall in the engine compartment ?
Any of the following................... 1. Low coolant level. 2. Clogged heater core. 3. A/C heater controller bad. 4. A/C heater doors not working. 5. Vacuum problems........
it is the blower motor resistor, simple to replace (usually under passenger side of dash) and fairly cheap to buy from dealer. check for corrosion or melting in electrical plug harness when you remove it(usually held in by two screws at bottom of blower motor/heater box area
