Do not look for an idle screw you can adjust. More than likely your problem is with a sensor. Go to your local public library and check out a repair manual (Chilton or Haynes) for your vehicle. See Chapter six for instructions on how to retrieve the trouble codes from your vehicle's computer. Chapter six will also tell you what each trouble code means and how to trouble-shoot or repair or replace. I would almost bet your problem is a faulty Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) switch - but don't run out and buy one, the trouble code(s) will tell you where the problem is for sure.
On the passenger side fire wall in engine compartment !
The throttle position sensor is located on the throttle plate, straight across from the throttle linkage.
Depends on the motor you have. If you have the 4.0 just follow the upper radiator hose to the engine and that's where it will be.
how do you fix a gas guage on a 1989 ford aerostar
That would be 21 gallons.
Yes
On the 1989 Aerostar it is under the dash near the passenger door.
It is inside the fuel tank.
if its your rear calliper its because of the handbrake adjustment mechanism, remove the capping screw and then wind the Allen head adjustment bolt right out, if that's not the case you may have wedged it on the angle when compressing the piston, good luck
