3 places idle is controlled on 94 Eclipse GS:
Fast idle (when cold) is controlled by a passage built into the throttle body (at the bottom). As the engine heats up, warm coolant moves a diaphragm and the fast idle returns to normal idle slowly.
Regular idle: Is computer controlled. An "IAC" motor located also at the bottom of the throttle body is controlled by the engine computer to set the idle. These often fail. When they do, they sometimes damage the control circuits in the computer. If you replace the IAC and the computer still cannot control the idle, this may be the case.
Base idle: Normally you dont mess with this! But if your IAC fails and you need to limp it around for a while without a new IAC, the base idle can be turned up. Technically, this can cause the car to fail emissions. Base idle screw is under the little black cap (if still there) at the top of the throttle body looking at you if you are staring at the engine. Its right out in the open at the very top. Turn counterclockwise to raise the idle. Go in 1/4 to 1/2 turn increments.
If you are going more than 2 turns, something else is wrong.
From what I've read online, it looks like it's connected to the underside of the throttle body.
It's located on, but right below your thottle body with 3 screws like a sensor. You will be able to find it if you take off your stock/aftermarket Intake.
You need to check the idle control valve, and the air filter.
95 eclipse has a low idle
Adjust idle on Mitsubishi diamante
I think your alternator doesn't work properly.
according to my pressure gauge on a 99 gst at idle about 50 and 3200 about 75psi
Theres a screw on the Throttle body at the end of the intake manifold. turn it with a screw driver left or right.
I believe you need to drive it so the ECM relearns it's idle.
My car has run perfect until I replaced the battery. Now has idle issue. My idle at times is low. 600 - 400 rpm. Cold starts are good and the first 10 min seem normal, but when warm I have idle issue on my GT Eclipse. Idle Sensor? Reset Idle code? Any other ideas?
Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - ElectronicFront RH Side Of Engine
Its located on the side of the throttle body. If You'r looking at the engine its on the Right side of TB
