The 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee engine control module is located on the firewall in the engine compartment. The engine control module will be on the passenger side of the firewall.
The ignition timing is controled by the PCM (computer), which is located below the master cylender inside the dash panel. There is no separate ignition module.

The 96 grand am does not have a body control module according to the dealership parts dept. It does however have a brake control module that is located in the firewall about in the center of the cowl area right next to the blower motor.

There is no distributor cap or even a distributor on these engines since the 6 plug wires are connected in pairs directly to 3 coils on top of the ignition control module. This module energizes and "fires" the coils electronically without the need for a distributor. If you suspect ignition problems check plug wires first, then plugs, then the module and coils.
