Depends on what kind of engine you have. Try looking for it bolted to the left of the rad if you are standing in front of the engine. There are two different ignition ignition modules that can be identified by 2 connectors/blue grommet on the standard module and 3 connectors/yellow grommet on the universal module. It should be a square box left of the rad. If this doesn't answer your question make sure what engine you have and ask again. Good Luck.
I just replaced mine yesterday (1990 LS 3.8 6cyl)
facing the front of the car, shine a flashligt through the grill on the passanger side. there it is!! the tool to remove the thing is funny looking. we took the mounting bracket off and took it to Auto Zone and the manager got the right tool. the tool is about two inches long and shaped like a child's spin top. one end has a star tool and the other end is the tool that will get into that little space to remove the screws.. we had bought a new one and it came with white sticky stuff that you have to apply to the back side of the ignition module.
Btw.. car still wants to cut off... just read on this site about a break light sensor that I hope to replace next!
