I was looking at the 2002 Ford Thunderbird Owner Guide and it shows that the vehicle is designed to run on " premium " unleaded gasoline , 91 octane or higher , it doesn't show anything about E-85 ( so I would say no )

Replace the pickup coil, ignition module, and ignition coil. One of them is causing the problem and possibly damaged the other two ignition components. Should replace distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires too, just as a precaution. Unless all that was done already trying to eliminate the problem.

Try changing the ignition switch located on the steering column
On this model, the wiper fuse is a circuit breaker in the wiper switch. There is a Blk/lt-grn wire (black light green), that has power from the ignition switch feeding the wiper switch. Check at the switch plug to make sure you have power coming in on this wire when the ignition switch is on. If you need more info, send me a message.
