Best Answer

Groups of cells that are the source of new cells form tissue called meristem. Meristem cells aren't specialized, but when they divide, some of the new cells specialize into tissues. Areas of growth that lengthen the tips of roots and stems are called apical meristems. Lateral meristems, found all along woody roots and stems, increase the thickness of these plant parts.

What are the regions of the meristematic?

The meristematic regions in plants are the apical meristem (found at the tips of roots and shoots), intercalary meristem (located at the base of leaves or internodes), and lateral meristem (responsible for increasing the girth of stems or roots). These regions are responsible for growth and cell division in plants.

What does stomata in hydrilla plant helps?

It helps it to grow. There are 3 meristem. They are: 1)Apical meristem 2)Intercalary meristem 3)Lateral meristem

In which region of a root do you find undifferentiated cells?

the undifferentiated cell is located in the ground meristem region.

Which tissues present in the dicot stem is meristematic in nature?

In a dicot stem, there are two areas of meristematic growth. The apical meristem which is located at the tips of roots and shoots, and the lateral meristem which contributes to outward growth.

What is a stem apex?

The point of the root meristem is called the root apical meristem, or the apex. The apex of the root meristem is covered by the root cap, which protects and guides its growth trajectory.

How does the structure of cells near the apical meristem compare with the structure of cells far from the apical meristem?

Cell division takes place at the meristem, so these cells may be undifferentiated. The meristem helps the plant grow.

What is growth tissue that remains just behind the root tip?

the apical meristem

What is the site of primary growth for plants?

one answer: cell growth, which is caused by photosynthesis.

What will happen if apical meristem is damaged or cut?

if the apical meristem is damaged or cut the plant will not show growth.

What is the Function of intercalary meristem in plants?

Intercalary meristem helps in longitudinal growth of plants . It is present at the base of leaves and internodes.

Why is the epicotyl important in a plant?

EPICOTYL-shoot apical meristem is located here ; it is the part of the stem axis that extends above the cotyledons in some seeds.

Which meristem is responsible for the transformation of the stem of a plant into the trunk when it grows into a tree?

Lateral meristem consisting of actively dividing vascular cambium
