This is correct. I could not find the jack in my mom's car and was about give up. Here are two pictures to help you find and identify where the jack is.

In the trunk passenger side by the tail light. It is behind a vertical door about 6" x 12". It opens on the top.
the alternator is on the passanger side all the way on the bottom so the best way to see it is to jack the car up and look under it
The jack on a 1999 F250 pick up truck is located behind the seat. There is a little compartment where the jack and everything needed is in.

Under the back seat on the right side. Lift the seat bottom.
The jack should be under the spare wheel along with the combination lug wrench/jack handle, under the floor of the trunk.

I have a 2000 quest, and the jack is under the 3rd row seat in a pouch anging, don't know if is the same in a 2006. Hope this helps.
its easy at the same time its a pain in the ass, you have to remove the drive belt and jack the car put it on a jack stand and remove the ac compresor and lose the altenater bolt out from there you just pull that bad boy out. Simple if you know what you doing.
all the way at the bottom close to the oil filter replacement u will have to jack the car
mine is a Kingcab and the jack is located between the two back folding seats, on the wall of the cab. turn the rotating latch and remove plastic cover to reveal all.
