If the previous owners did not remove it, it's usually on the left side of the Trunk Lift. Some owners put it in the owners manual. If it's not in either place, your only option is to go to the dealer.
retrieve key less entry code for mercury marquis
On hinge in trunk, may also be in front of owner's manual (which tells about programming it).
Open the trunk and look at the trunk hinge, the code is there. If it isn't you will need to go to a Ford dealer so they can reset the code.
on Grand Marquis it is located behind the driver's door interior panel perhaps the same on LS
The code is usually on a sticker on one of the trunk lift rods. Some owners write it in their owners manuals. Other than those two places, you only other option is to go to a dealership.
Instructions are in the owners manual. You can probably refer to this on line if you don't have the book.
Where do I find the key less entry code on a 2001 Ford Expedition?
check out www . motorcraft service . com ( no spaces ) click on Owner Guides The owners manual can be viewed on-line
Each 2001 Ford Expedition with key less entry has it's own factory code
It seems like the 1998 grand marquis key-less entry model was the only model made where u would actually have to take to a dealership to have it program there as it requires a computer module to program it.. unlike the rest of all models where u would be able to program you're self.. with the key and keyless entry pin pad those procedures just wold not work on the 98 model.. have tried it out... and it not work..
If u open the trunk, theres a little sticker on the hinge that holds the trunk, should be 6 digits. Note: Some owners remove this sticker. Some write the code inside the owners manual. Any dealer can obtain the master code but you will have to pay for it. If you know enough to take the door apart, the code is on the back side of the module too.
I had the same problem. Google "keyless entry remote 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee".
