There are 2 of them, And both of them are underneath the intake manifold. You will have to remove the intake to get to them. Bad design from Chevy motor comp.
There's no other way to get to them.
in my 98, Chevy siverado, c1500 2wd, 5.7L vortec, I found it located to the left (passenger) side of the manifold, near the throttle body. It can be identified by the vaccum line coming out the left side of the sensor, leading to the Vortec air box.

Assuming that it is a 3.1 V6, as most of them are, there is no cam sensor. Only a crankshaft sensor. It is located behind the harmonic balancer. To replace it the balancer has to be removed.
