The knock sensor for a 1996 Nissan Altima is located on the backside of the block above the oil filter.
But before you go and change it out, run a tank of the best/hightest rated gas you can find and see if that fixes the problem. On my 1995 the Knock sensor is located under the plenum and intake manifold on top of the middle of the block.
Is inside the distributor
how you can remove the knock sensor from a 1996 Nissan pathfinder i need a picture
You can find a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder knock sensor picture in most auto repair manuals. Most Nissan dealerships repair centers will provide you with a picture of the sensor.
Where is the fuel pump located on a 1996 Nissan Altima
The knock sensor is underneath the intake manifold on the rear of the engine. If you got an engine check code from Autozone or some other goof ball company like that go and get a full tank of the highest quality gas and see if that fixes the problem.
Follow the front wire on the distributor and it will lead to the crank shaft position sensor. hope this helps..
I spoke with a Nissan dealer in Cobb County, Georgia and they indicated the price to replace range from $510- $530 including parts and service.
