Mauna Kea in Hawaii is the world's tallest mountain from base to peak! Its base is on the sea floor and it rises 33,480 feet (10,314 meters) in total, reaching 13,796 feet (4205 m) above sea level.

While Mt. Everest is the world's tallest above sea level, Mauna Kea is still quite spectacular.

The largest Volcano in the Solar System and the largest mountain in the Solar System are one in the same: Olympus Mons on Mars.

Olympus Mons is a shield volcano that towers to an amazing 26 km. That makes it 3 times the height of Mt. Everest. Unlike Everest, Olympus Mons has a very gentle slope. It is up to 550 km at its base.
