Probably the arm. Any place where there is a lot of fat and fewer nerve endings.
It is not recommended, but depending on the size of your arm muscle it can be done. The lasting effects such as soreness and stiffness are worse when given in the arm. Plus you run a greater risk of injecting a vein or artery. It takes a few times to get used to giving yourself an injection in the hip, but it's less painful, and much safer.
Well, none of the shots are painful if you rest your arm for at least fifteen minutes without moving it and thinking happy thoughts. Before you know it, the shot with be done! Hope this helps!
thigh or arm
I'd say breaking your arm.2nd Answereer says:Having done both (more than once, each...) I would have to agree: The breaking of the arm (each time) was more painful than even my very first injection, which carried more 'anticpated pain' than any pain since. A common nurse/doctor 'trick' is to pinch your skin just before piercing the skin with the needle. It works well!
You can get the birth control injection in the same arm every time for years. There is no medical need to rotate injection sites.
The deltoid, located on the upper arm.
Tattoos hurt more on bony parts and places with sensitive skin like the back of your arm. Any fatty place like the buttocks would hurt less.
Its probably because either you popped your shoulder out of place or the pain signals are to painful making you stay awake to worry about it.
