There are 2 fuel pumps.
1 in-line high pressure electronic pump (near drivers door area underneath, on the frame rail area).
The 2nd (electronic) pump is in the gas tank, connected to the fuel pump assembly (pressure pump) .
There are also 2 fuel filters; 1 in-line, a high pressure pump area and 1 in the black round in-line catch can, that sometimes has a filter in it.
There is also a fuel pump relay switch (under hood near battery area). There's 2 together (not sure what other 1 is for), should click when key is turned; and a fuel pump inertia cut off switch (passenger floor, behind kick panel area).
Instead of removing gas tank on my RV 89 Ford e350 460 mtr. to get at the tank pump, I cut a hole through the floor. To get at the top of tank and replace it that way, took about 1 hr.
I just did all of this on my RV. I hope this works for you.
If it is a gas engine, it is located in the fuel tank.
fuel strainer location on e350 van
On the drivers side of van, in front of the fuel tank, along the frame. You will need a fuel line tool to release filter.
The Fuel rail is on top of the manifold with a crossover tube at the back of the engine. It may appear to be chrome.
On mine, it is located behind the passenger side headlight. You need to pull the headlight out to get to it.
The 1986 ford f150 has two fuel pumps. There is one pump mounted inside of each fuel tank.
The Buick Roadmaster was not produced in 1986. They were made from 1991 to 1996.
On the back of the motor if it has a carb.
