The switch is mounted near the bottom of the steering column under the dash and above the brake pedal on the left side.
There is a backup light switch on the transmission.
left side of transmission
Its on the transmission, just look for a switch with wires to it.
look where the transmission shift linkage attaches to the transmission, there should be a proximity switch there, likely the only thing with wires going to it on the assembly.
depends if it is standard transmission it is located on the left side of the transaxle.
This is part of the neutral safety / transmission shift location switch / back up light switch. It is mounted on the transmission behind the shift sector shaft. The shift cable will run from the shifter to the transmission and this switch is mounted there on the side of the transmission.
The switch for the backup light switch for an automatic transmission is located on the transmission where the shifting cable enters the transmission (The side of the transmission closest to the radiator),how about for the manual trans mission models?
You would have to literally run a wire from the battery through a fuse and then to a toggle switch and then on to the backup lights, this will only function when the switch is on and will have nothing to do with the transmission being in reverse. This is essentially the same as putting a toggle switch across the transmission mounted switch (assuming the transmission switch is not shorted).
you can find the switch by looking underneath the truck right below the stick shift
switch is on side of transmission under the car
The backup light switch is mounted on the transmission casing.
The backup light switch is located on the left side of the transmission. Disconnect the switch connectors, then unscrew the switch.
