Cam sensor on 1996 Dodge intrepid 3.5 V6 is on the driver's side on top where the cam gear turns on the front of the engine.. Usually has a 90 deg. connector for the wires.. MUST be air gapped correctly to work proplerly.. DO NOT Bottom the sensor out against the cam gear unless the new sensor has a card board disc glued to the end of the sensor to set the gap... In a '96 with the 3.8L, the cam position sensor is in the timing chain cover, near the very top. It's just below the rear bolt on the thermostat housing. If you're going to replace it, make sure that the new one comes with the paper spacer on the end. It's a little dot of thick paper (about 1 milimeter thick) that is provided to set the gap between the end of the sensor and…
