Crank sensors are always located on the camshafts. The 1989 Pontiac Sunbird crank sensor is located on the head of the engine towards to end of the camshaft.

The engine supplies vacuum where needed to operate certain functions. Unless it is a diesel, I never heard of a vacuum pump on a Pontiac Grand Prix.

Front of engine, underneath the intake runners. This is for Quad 4 dohc engine. You can just see it if you remove the rubber hose from the throttle body to the air filter.
