Under that your fuse box is a block box that on one corner has kinda a triangle looking appearance. it is marked right in the middle fuse box. I have a stock 98 intruder and the fuse box is in the same place, under the tin directly above the kick stand.

It has a Phillips head screw in the middle. On the end of the box that faces the front of the bike it should say FUSE (it may have dust over the words). on a 1999 sukuki 1400 intruder, its inside the left side panel, under a black plastic lid/panel held on by a phillips screw. You will have to remove the seat to get the side panel off. Im pretty sure the 96 & 99 are the same.
