The Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor on a Mazda Miata is on the right side of the engine, when looking directly at the engine. It's a black, tube about 4" long, and connects right into the large, plastic black air box.

1999-2005 Mazda Miatas do not really run MAP sensors like Hondas, they use a Mass Air Flow Sensor, the black, tubular piece on top of the air box. Miatas do have a boost sensor, and that is located on the intake manifold, half way down on on the lower section.
The IAT on a 94-97 models is not a separate component, like on later models. It is included in the Mass Air Flow Sensor. The Mass Air Flow Sensor is the black, plastic tubular component connected at the top of your airbox on the driver's side.
