Depends. Generally on the barrel. firstname.lastname@example.org
Sorry, no real public data on those. Prior to 1968 shotguns sold by sear did not have a serial number ( the 583.2087 is a model number)The model number 583.2085 was a High Standard shotgun in 20ga.that was made for Sears.Maybe yours is a High standard also. The model number is awful close.
Your shotgun was made by High standard in 1960 for Sears. The model 21 was first introduced by Sears in the spring of 1958.
with a torch
High Standard shotguns made before 1969 did not have serial numbers except for some exported models and the Model 10-A bullpup. Your shotgun has no serial number.
Your 12 g pump shotgun was made for Sears by the High Standard Company- it was their Flite King model shotgun.
Might I suggest contacting 'High Standard'? Do a search for high standard firearms and get in touch with them.
You do not say which model shotgun you own?So I will say that if you have a winchester model 12 pump action shotgun then it was made in 1953.This is the only winchester model shotgun with a serial number that high.
Virtually impossible to id a model from just the sn. Actually the serial numbers can tell you a lot about the guns configuration when it shipped. In this case it is a model made specially for K-Mart and shipped 8/10/1972 as a catalog number 56500 ( the catalog number given to the K-Mart special model) which is most like a high Standard catalog number 8224.
Both were High Standard Flite King shotguns. They are similar, but from different time periods. Very nice shotguns, not very pricey.
With the serial number that you have provided, your High Standard citation model 102 was made in the year 1958.

With the serial number that you have provided, your Hi standard Model B was made by Hi Standard in the year 1936.
My understanding is that the first true gas operated automatic shotgun was sold by Sears & Roebuck in 1955 as the J.C. Higgins Model 60 and was manufactured by High Standard.
It is a High Standard Flite King. Decent gun.
Why can't this question be answer? Doug
You will need to check your serial number again.Winchester serial numbers for the Model 1897 shotgun only go as high as 1,024,700.
Sears model 21 pump shotguns were made by High Standard. The High Standard model designation is the K2011, also known as the Flite/Sport King. They were manufactured between 1960 and 1966. The K2011 was a 20ga shotgun, specifically the Flight King Deluxe. High Standard guns are characterized by Series (such as K2011) and then by catalog number which further defines exact features, barrel length, etc. The Sears Model 21 in .410 was a version of the K-410 series Flight King Field shotgun, catalog #8450. It was produced between 1962 and 1965. The Sears model number can be found on the left side of the barrel, and will be either 583.2085, 583.2086 or 583.2087. email@example.com
That is not a serial number (that gun does not have one) it is a model number. Your shotgun is a High Standard Flite King- good guns, by the way. They sell used for about $130
High Standard i have one that looks like a Winchester model 1200 i know the reference boards claim the sears model 21 is a high standard but i think the ted Williams model 21 at least some may have been Winchester
What you have is a Model 1885 Single Shot (high-wall) shotgun that was manufactured in the year 1913.
