We had the same problem with our 1999 and it turned out it is actually behind the ashtray in the dash. Hope this helps, Christine
You need to replace the daytime running lights control module
Inner fender, drivers side.
you have to remove the drl module that located in the fuse box...

The daytime running light module on a 2000 Dodge Dakota is located underneath the hood. It will be located on the inner fender on the left side.
I've had this problem recently. You need to replace your daytime running lights module. it should be located on the drivers side of the car in just in front of the front tire (it is where it is on the '92)
The Daytime Running Lights Module needed to be replaced and the problem was solved.
