Not a good idea. It is called a safety switch for a reason.
There is no inertia switch on the GM Safari.

It is bolted on the left side of the transmission. The gm part # is 24229422

There is none on GM vehicles.
It is located under the vehicle on the driver's side of the transmission. If you are going to change the switch yourself make sure you have all the proper tools including a jack to raise the front end.
