The P035 code on a Nissan Maxima indicates a problem with the ignition coil for one of the cylinders, specifically a malfunction in the ignition coil circuit. This can result in issues such as misfiring, rough idling, or poor engine performance. Common causes include a faulty ignition coil, damaged wiring, or a malfunctioning engine control module (ECM). It's important to diagnose and address the issue to prevent further engine damage.
1995 Nissan maximas do not have dist caps they have individ coil packs on top of the v covers
looking at the ft. of engine it is located on the rear left of engine, looks like a square box with a plug attached with a green release
Because you need to replace it.
Indeed, cylinder #4 is located in the middle closest to the radiator when facing the engine, logically the coil is located in the same spot. You will have to remove the cover to have access to the coil, you should also replace all the spark plugs once your at it if you haven't done so. I don't know why Nissan doesn't recall this problem since it is very common an all V6 3000 engines, specially on the 2000 models. I had to replace cylinder coil #5 on my maxima.
follow your spark plug wires from the engine and they will lead directly to the coil pack. it is what they plug into
