The '97 is OBDII. There are 4 different O2 sensors on the '97 Cadillac. http://www.airbagcrash.com
The O2 sensor on a 2003 Cadillac Northstar engine is located in the exhaust manifold. The readings from this sensor are sent to the vehicle's computer, which makes constant adjustments to the fuel and air mixture.

I believe the O2 sensor heater is a fused circuit, you will need a wiring diagram to tell which one it is.
Before the Cat Conv
o2 sensor is on driver side 2nd one back
Look in the driver side exhaust manifold.
The O2 sensor is on the top of the exhaust pipe on the passanger side of the car near the junction of the engine and transmission.
In the exhaust system before the catalytic converter.
There are 2 of them. One on each side of the engine.
Cadillac DeVillethese o2 sensors are located aft of the cat that is o2 #2 ,o2 #1 is forward of the cat this is the same on all OBDII compliant auto's Fred@towerpower6@bigriver.net
Remove the vacuum hose from the sensor. Remove the sensor retaining screws. The sensor will come off. Reverse the process to install the new sensor.
