The 2008-2009, L4-2.4L 4 cylinder Aura oil filter is a replaceable element, not a standard spin-on type. It's on the front of the engine, driver's side, slightly under the intake manifold, next to the transmission. It's accessed from topside. The oil filter cover looks like a short dome with a hex nut on top. You'll need a 1 1/4" (32mm) low-profile socket to remove the cover [i.e., NAPA = SER-3932; Advance Auto = Lisle 14700]. You'll likely find this socket in the Oil Filter Wrench section of your local auto parts supplier.
Your replacement filter should come with a new o-ring. Remove the oil filter housing cover, then remove the old element and replace. Make sure to use the new o-ring. Make sure that the new filter element is oriented correctly before installation.
The oil filter on a 2008 Saturn Astra is located in front of the engine. The oil filter can be found on the underside of the exhaust manifold towards the passenger side of the vehicle.
Yes
Filter is located on top side of engine-- between firewall and intake. Has a raised hex nut on top.
Saturn recommends changing oil filter every 6000 to 12000 miles. Most mechanics recommend changing the oil filter with every oil change.
5.5 per Jiffy Lube
on my 94 it was near the oil filter and it was a canister type like your oil filter
To change the oil filter on a 2008 2.4L Vue or Sky you need a special short 32mm (1.25in) socket with a 3/8 in drive. Here is a package that I found on eBay for the filter element and socket. Good luck! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GM-oil-filter-&-socket-wrench-32mm-Saturn-L-LS-LW-Vue-_W0QQitemZ120330902655QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20081109?IMSfp=TL0811091110006r29122
